Terms of Service

The service

Mimi's Knit Studio is an online Studio for designing finger-knit projects, including tools that convert artwork into knitting charts and optional AI-assisted design generation. It is software you access over the internet, not a physical product shop and not a finished knitted item.

Features, availability, and project types may change as we improve the Studio. We do not promise that every tool will remain available in the same form.

Accounts

You must provide a working email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. Contact us promptly if you believe someone else used it.

Email confirmation is required before paid checkout. You must be able to enter a legally binding agreement. The Studio is not directed to children under 13.

Membership and billing

A Free account does not require a credit card. Free includes Baby 30×40 and Throw 50×60 sizes, image upload, image-to-chart conversion, basic chart and color editing, and Finished Blanket Preview. Free does not include AI design generation, custom sizing, or other membership features.

Paid access is Mimi's Knit Studio Membership at $12.99 per month or $134.99 per year. Monthly and Annual are the same membership at different billing cadences. Each renews automatically until you cancel. This is not a lifetime price lock.

New Monthly and Annual memberships begin when checkout is completed. Stripe processes payment. We do not store raw card numbers.

Subscriptions continue until canceled. You can cancel through the Stripe customer portal linked from Billing. For a paid period, cancellation is scheduled at the end of that period; you keep Studio access until then if your membership status still allows access. Canceling does not by itself create a new AI allowance or a refund.

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable once charged, except where required by law. If you experience a billing error or technical issue, contact support@mimisknitstudio.com and we will review the situation. Canceling prevents future renewal charges but does not normally refund charges already paid. Failed or past-due payments may limit or end access according to the membership status we receive from Stripe.

Some accounts may have complimentary Studio access that we grant separately. Complimentary access is not a self-serve purchase.

AI design generations

Paid membership includes 20 AI design generations per monthly allowance window. Unused generations do not roll over. Annual billing does not grant 240 generations at once.

Chart conversion and other non-AI Studio tools do not consume AI design generations while you have valid Studio access.

AI and generated output can be wrong, incomplete, or impractical to knit. You must review charts, counts, and instructions before relying on them or starting a project.

Acceptable use

Use the Studio only for lawful purposes and only with content you have the right to use.

You may not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass payment or rate limits, scrape the service in an abusive way, probe or exploit security, or reverse-engineer the software except to the limited extent that applicable law prohibits us from restricting that activity.

You may not upload or generate content you do not have rights to use, including other people’s photographs, trademarks, or copyrighted characters, unless you have permission or another legal right.

Your artwork and content

You keep whatever rights you already have in artwork, photos, and descriptions you upload or type. We do not claim ownership of your pre-existing artwork because you uploaded it.

You grant us a limited license to host, process, transcode, and display that content only as needed to operate the Studio features you use (for example, converting an image into a chart or sending a description and image to an AI image provider you requested). This license lasts only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service and to meet legitimate operational or legal obligations.

You represent that you have the rights needed to upload that content and to grant that license.

Our software and pattern documents

Mimi's Knit Studio, including the website, software, knitting conversion logic, chart and pattern systems, prompts, documentation, and other proprietary Studio technology, is owned by Mimi's Fabulous Creations and its licensors. These Terms do not sell that software to you.

Subject to these Terms and a valid membership (or complimentary access we have granted), we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Studio.

You may use Studio-generated charts and pattern documents to create finished physical knitted items for personal use, gifts, and sale.

Unless Mimi's Knit Studio expressly provides another license or marketplace feature, you may not sell, publish, share, redistribute, sublicense, copy for distribution, or commercially distribute the Studio-generated chart or pattern document itself.

We do not claim ownership of your pre-existing artwork. We do not claim that we automatically own copyright in AI-generated output. The copyright status of AI-generated and AI-assisted material may depend on applicable law and the circumstances of its creation. We do not guarantee that any output is eligible for copyright registration or other intellectual-property protection.

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not offer a specific uptime guarantee. Maintenance, provider outages, or errors may interrupt the Studio.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, if payment fails, or if we must do so for security or legal reasons. You may stop using the Studio and cancel as described above.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Studio is provided “as is.” Charts, stitch counts, AI designs, and yarn estimates can contain errors. We disclaim warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost projects, substitute yarn or time, or indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for a claim relating to the Studio is limited to the membership fees you paid to us for the Studio in the three months before the claim, or twenty-five U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.

Some places do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where applicable federal law controls.
